Subject:XML Schema, XML instance and XSLT "linked" in a project Author:Olivier Besnard Date:24 Nov 2005 03:36 AM
Hello,
I have a request concerning the Project management.
I think the different files in a project must be "linked" in the editor.
For exemple, I create (in a project) a XML Schema.
Then I use this XML Schema to create an XSLT Mapping (as the source of the XSLT visual mapper).
Both files are saved in the project, then use in Production.
Later, I reopen the project to change the XML Schema. For exemple, I rename an element.
If this element is mapped in the XSLT, it will failed.
I think that a warning must be raise by the editor saying: "This element is used by myMapping.xsl, do you want to update the mapping?"
And so on for structure change etc..
This kind of behavoir already exists in adavanced Java Editor. When I rename a function, all its calls in other class are updated.
Could you think about implementing this feature? Even if there is just a warning with no automatic update it will be usedfull for large project management.
