Toby AllenSubject: Please let me use the normal Open Dialog

Hi,

I enjoy using your product, but one thing drives me nuts, your Open Dialog. Please change it back to the default windows one or at least let me do it as an option. I can see how you want to allow people to open XML from alsorts of exciting places, but I just want to open files from my file system.

Your open dialog has a number of problems.

- On Details view you only show name and size and I cant even sort on those, let alone date which I want to sort on.
- You dont use explorer icons, so some folders I've set custom icons on dont have custom icons.

It would be great if I could just use the normal standard Windows Open Dialog.

Thanks

The next release of Stylus Studio will include an updated File|Open
dialog. Among its features will be showing of last-modified dates and
sorting by clicking on a column header.

Does this mean it will be the standard windows open dialog?

No. The standard Windows file-open dialog returns filenames, not URLs.
It does not properly build URLs which are needed for the many third-party
engines and other components that are used within Stylus Studio, nor
does it support the other filesystems, nor does it allow support for
using adapters.
Is there some other reason why you want the standards Windows over the
one we supply now (with my previously-mentioned changes notwithstanding)?
