I am really sorry you had such a strong reaction against the new look and feel.
We did re-designed the icons to have a more consistent style.
Many applications support 24x24 icons in addition to 16*15 for example
Internet Explorer, Microsoft Office, Visual Studio.NET so it does Stylus,
if you prefer small icons click
Tools -> Customize and uncheck "Large Buttons"
I believe that Stylus Studio 6.0 is so much more the just new icons's style.
You can be pleased or dissapointed with them, but please try to be fair
in your judgment.

yes, the goal of this forum is to allow and stimulate discussion and
feedback. On the other hand, sometimes the feedback can be expressed in a
way that makes readers focus on the tone being used rather than on the
content of the message.
The 16x16 "standard" (which actually in most cases was 16x15) was followed
by most applications in the 90's; today you can find many different flavors
of button sizes. We picked what we think is a reasonable compromise between
readability and screen space. We default to 24x24 for main frame buttons,
and we use the 16x15 size for the document specific ones. As Ivan pointed
out, users can scale down the main frame buttons to 16x15 if they want to;
and the setting is "persistent".
This decision has - of course - been taken following our best judgement,
based on internal and external feedback. We may well be wrong, and time
will tell us.
