Jeff DarlingSubject: Progress Meter for large XML file?
Author: Jeff Darling

The program hangs and shows no progress meter when opening a large XML file. In fact, the program also does not repaint during the load of a large XML file. I tested a couple of large XML files. Large tends to be over 1 Megabyte, but it really lags at 4 megabytes.

I feel that it would be a great feature.

I wrote a program using SAX so I know that it is possible to give some kind of progress of the opening of the file.

Hi, Jeff. A 4mb file is pretty small (we consider "large" to be more on the order of 50-60mb), and the file should open rather quickly.

Can you tell us more about how your machine is configured? If you like, we can also take a look at the file if you can share it with us.

Thanks.
