Working with Scenarios

As described earlier in this chapter, you use a DB-to-XML data source scenario to specify database connectivity settings. You create and modify DB-to-XML data source scenarios using the Scenario Properties dialog box.

This section describes how to open the Scenario Properties dialog box (Stylus Studio opens it for you automatically when you create a new DB-to-XML data source), and how to create new and modify existing scenarios.

This section covers the following topics:

Generate XML Schema

Generate XML Schema data models from one or more XML instance documents, or by converting other data models (DTD's, Relational Schemas, EDIFACT, EDI, etc.)

Report Generation - Visually Defining Relationships in XML Publisher

Develop report generation applications with a powerful relationship manager in XML Publisher which provides a powerful and easy way to group and join data from one or more data sources.

XPath Introduction - Using XPath Queries to Extract Data from XML Documents

The XPath introduction covers how to use XPath code completion, XPath syntax highlighting, support for XPath 2.0 functions and XML namespaces to simplify your next XPath application.

Generate XSD

Stylus Studio® can generate an industry standard W3C XSD (or DTD) by correctly inferring an XML data model from an XML instance document.
