'The Stylus Scoop' Interviews Java and XML Guru Jason Hunter

Bedford, Mass.Sept  14, 2004 — Stylus Studio (http://www.stylusstudio.com), the leading provider of powerful development tools for XML technologies including XML, XSL, XSLT, XML Schema, Web services, SQL/XML, and XQuery, today published an interview with Mr. Jason Hunter on emerging XQuery and XQuery API for Java (XQJ) technologies in the September 2004 issue of "The Stylus Scoop," the official Stylus Studio developer newsletter. XML and Java enthusiasts can read the complete text of the interview at the Stylus Studio website.

In the interview, conducted by Ivan Pedruzzi, Stylus Studio Senior Product Architect and editor of "The Stylus Scoop," Mr. Hunter gives his personal insight on the effect of XQuery and XQJ technologies on Java application development trends, and his vision of how they are likely to be used in conjunction with other related XML technologies such as JDOM, and XML tools and XQuery enabled servers.

Jason Hunter is author of Java Servlet Programming and co-author of Java Enterprise Best Practices (both O'Reilly Media), an original contributor to Apache Tomcat, and a member of the expert groups responsible for Servlet, JSP, JAXP, and XQJ development. He's an Apache Member and as Apache's representative to the Java Community Process Executive Committee he established a landmark agreement for open source Java. He co-created the open source JDOM library to enable optimized Java and XML integration. More recently, Jason's work has focused on XQuery technologies. In addition to helping on XQJ, he co-created BumbleBee, an XQuery test harness, and started XQuery.com — a popular XQuery development portal. Jason presently works as a Senior Engineer with Mark Logic, a product company specializing in XQuery enabled content management applications.

The exclusive interview was produced for "The Stylus Scoop," the official newsletter for the Stylus Studio XML developer community. "The Stylus Scoop," read by thousands worldwide, features product news, XML tutorials, whitepapers, video demonstration highlights, case studies, events, contests, industry news, customer stories, interviews, and more!
