Options - Module Settings - DBtoXML - Default Connection

You use this page of the Options dialog box to establish default settings you want to use

To display the Options dialog box, select Tools > Options from the Stylus Studio menu bar. Expand Module Settings and Java and click Debugger.

Fields

Connection settings vary from database to database, but they typically include the following:

  • The username and password required to log in to the database.

Database Type

The type of database to which you want to connect. You can connect to one of the default relational databases supported by Stylus Studio (Oracle, MS SQL Server, Informix, and so on), or you can use DataDirect SequeLink to connect to any ODBC database you specify.

Server URL

The server URL (and, in some cases, other connection parameters). In addition to the server's location, connection parameters can include the server name, the port through which the connection is established, and other information, such as a server ID (SID).

Username

Username required to log in to the database.

Password

Password associated with the username.

The button you use to test your connction to the database.
