Parts of the XML Pipeline Editor

The XML Pipeline Editor has three main parts, shown in Figure 392:

  • The XML pipeline canvas, on which you compose the operations and the flow of your XML pipeline and work with the resulting XML pipeline diagram. See Working with the XML Pipeline Diagram for more information.
  • The Toolbox pane contains the tools you use to add transformation, flow control, and data source operations to your XML pipeline. Operations you add using toolbox tools are not yet tied to an implementation - you need to specify them by setting values in the Properties window. See Adding Nodes to an XML Pipeline for more information.
  • The Properties window, which displays information about the operations in your XML pipeline. Some default values are provided by Stylus Studio; if you create an operation by dragging a document from the Project window and dropping it on the canvas, however, some of that document's information is used to specify property settings for the operation. For example, if you drag and drop an XQuery document in the XML pipeline, the .xquery file property is based on the document's URL. See XML Pipeline Node Properties Reference for more information on properties for individual nodes.
