If things don't work in our daily lives, fast and easy, they end up being well kept secrets only known by the few. It has been confirmed in this thread, that we should not expect to get our XHTML5, option 1 or option 2, validated right away by clicking a button as we have been used to for 15 years. Many validators will require that we use a web-server or server-side code in order to get our XHTML validated using the "application/xhtml+xml" mimetype. That is a no go! We might be lucky to find a Validator that has a lot of options, and some of us might be lucky to have the know-how to tweak its settings, in order to get validation without a webserver and server-side scripting.
