That was Evan's point.

rather than trying to pull off the impossible of defining a small sane 
subset of the monster that is XSD, just define a small sane subset of 
Relax NG and consider trang just as a compilation step.

If your microxml instance is constrained by a relax ng schema, which 
also has an automatically generated version using XSD syntax, it really 
doesn't matter whether on a given platform you use the rnc or xsd file 
at run time.

As it happens though

http://www.relaxng.org/

lists two .NET relaxng validators, although perhpaps you don't consider 
them "serious" (I haven't tried either of them personally).
