Once the the patent moves from physical apparatus to methods or process,
or computer program, it becomes murky.  What, exactly, is the product?
What is use?

At any rate, I believe Microsoft is doing the right thing and being
consistent, and that they really intended to release those files as RF,
for the purpose of reading/writing files to interoperate with office.
