Right, but my point was that it would be wrong to use such a document with existing parsers *anyway*, because it contains the reserved name xml:id. The whole point of "reserved" is that you can't expect appropriate behaviour from processors that don't conform to whatever spec provides a definition of the reserved name. -- Richard
