RE: rng 2 xmi

xmi converter
>Is anyone aware of code that will transform RNG to XMI (and vice
versa)?

I don't think there is. The only thing that comes close to my mind is
Sun's RELAX NG converter(a propos the rest of your post), and that
doesn't support XMI

>If such a thing doesn't exist, would anyone else use it?

Hmm yeah, if it supported embedded schematron; well I'd probably use it
even if it didn't.
Perhaps one could do it in a pipe(the poor man's solution to just about
everything), there must be some WXS to XMI converter out there, go from
RNG to WXS to XMI? Although given the problems people always seem to be
having with WXS I'd worry about noise creeping in.

This might seem like a somewhat freaky suggestion, but do you think that
something like MDL(http://www.charteris.com/mdl/) would be a good basis
for building a cross-schemata converter such as you're suggesting? I
find it freaky in that MDL has an XMI based model and a DAML-OIL based
model, I've done some work with the DAML-OIL, and you're discussing
going from RNG to XMI and possibly other things. By freakiness I mean
that I get the feeling that trying to build it along those lines would
lead to that state of awareness one sometimes gets with a technology
where all sorts of heretofore unrecognized possibilities comes into
play.
Anyway that last bit is probably just the coffee talking but I figured
I'd throw it in anyway.
