Sonic Software and the Assosciation for Retail Technology Standards (ARTS) Ease Retailers' Migration to Standards

Sonic Joins ARTS at the NRF Convention and Expo; Sonic Integration Products Added to ARTS XML Tools List

NEW YORK, N.Y.; NRF Convention & Expo, Booth #2425January 12, 2004 — Sonic Software, the leader in distributed, standards-based integration, is working with the Association for Retail Technology Standards (ARTS) of the National Retail Federation (NRF) to develop key retail standards and promote the use of XML by retail organizations. IXRetail, the XML standards group of ARTS, has adopted Sonic Stylus Studio for XML Schema and XSLT development, helping retail organizations migrate to XML standards more easily.

Sonic will be showcasing Sonic ESB™ (enterprise service bus) and Stylus Studio in the ARTS Standards Pavilion during the NRF show in Booth #743, and offering an evaluation CD containing schemas and tools for retailers considering the use of any of the eight ARTS IXRetail Standard XML Schemas. Like many industries, retail is embracing XML as a powerful way to exchange data between applications, platforms and sites. ARTS and its contributing members are responsible for developing XML and other standards that enable retailers to integrate applications using an XML-based processing model.

"Sonic is a great partner and member for ARTS to have as we enable the migration to XML standards in the retail industry," said Richard Mader, executive director of ARTS. "Sonic Stylus Studio, which we're providing to NRF members and show attendees through this CD offer, provides a powerful toolset for working with the XML Schema, XSLT, XQuery and related XML standards that our ARTS members have developed."

Sonic will be showcasing its complete Sonic Business Integration Suite™, which includes Sonic ESB, Sonic Orchestration Server™, Sonic XML Server™, and Sonic Integration Workbench™ in NRF show Booth #2425.
