True, John, but try before legislating. :) Postel works for consenting consumers and willing providers. The interesting question is in an ecosystem that compels such as process/contract chained consumers and producers. A less abstract example is when given a DTD and/or schema do you: accept redundancy weaken the obligating producer (eg, a DTD-constrained editor) remove the helper code in the consumer (eg, an XSL that is contributing information such as boilerplate text) if you have authoritative power over the sets (e.g, GFI)?
