In the same way as the interface to a function is defined by its signature, the interface to an XSLT instruction is defined by its schematic format: <xsl:analyze-string select = expression regex = { string } flags? = { string } > <!-- Content: (xsl:matching-substring?, xsl:non-matching-substring?, xsl:fallback*) --> </xsl:analyze-string> We don't actually have a name for the "schematic format"; it's sometimes called the "instruction template", but not in the spec itself.
