you may want to have a look at the examples in chapter 5.1 from
Skonnard&Gudgin, Essential XML Quick Reference (free download):
http://www.theserverside.net/tt/books/addisonwesley/EssentialXML/index.tss

There you may find examples for exemplar-based, procedural and declarative
transformations.

Surely that's not the case.

Would someone give an example of XSLT code that is clearly imperative?
