You probably know this, but there is:

http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/javax/xml/bind/annotation/XmlElement.html

(and its brethren)

But this is probably easiest:

http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/java/beans/XMLEncoder.html

(and XMLDecoder)
