And conversely, when I painstakingly put that whitespace in a document to make it easier to edit in the environments I use, I resent editors that completely trash it, not only making it harder to read, but making cvs diffs a lot harder to interpret, since virtually every line has changed by simple virtue of using that particular editor on a file, changing perhaps one character. The fact of different preferences for what should happen is precisely the situation referred to in the title of this thread. Jonathan
