StAX implementation --Urgent

Has anyone implemented StAX program from  
http://www.xml.com/pub/a/2003/09/17/stax.html . What are the 
requirements to run this program. i have    java 1.4.2 installed on the 
system but it does not run .can anyone tell me what do i need to have 
inorder to run it.

And my second question is there are any implementation of other 
streaming api for XML available .and have used it .

And finally has anyone used the StAX implementation by BEA .i have tried 
to use the jar file but couldnt do it.

It would be appreciated if someone could help me out with these problems.
