Jack Park has worked up a Topic Maps version, and of course topic maps can be serialized in xml - http://www.knowledgetechnologies.net/proceedings/presentations/park/html/NEXIST.html http://nexist.sourceforge.net You want to remember that the threads can get pretty complex.
