psvi type annotations
There are roughly 5 broad classes of PSVI output

1.	Validation Outcomes: Information related to whether an element or attribute was successfully validated or not. .
2.	Default Information: Indications as to whether the value of an element or attribute was obtained via default values specified in the schema or not. .
3.	Identity Constraint Relationships: Tables containing information related to identity constraint mechanisms such as ID/IDREF and key/keyref/unique.
4.	Type Annotations: References to schema components that may be type definitions or element and attribute declarations. Also includes values of elements and attributes after normalization based on their datatype.
5.	Notation Data: Information related to notation declarations in the schema.

The first is useful to practically any application that performs schema validation. Of the rest only type annotations have I seen serving any practical purpose. Type annotations are useful for dealing with strongly typed XML especially in situations where the XML is being mapped to other domains like objects or relational databases. The rest of the PSVI serves little practical purpose.

Subject: Applications that require PSVI output

Hello,

Can anyone give me specific examples of applications
that would require the PSVI output of an XML file?

Thanks,

Navid.
