Just in case anyone is tempted to take this out of context, I want to be clear 
that the "inebriated gallery boor" is the true catalyst of great drama, and 
that this is the only audience I would ever care to write for.  I myself am, 
in my proudest moments, a drunken gallery boor, and as far as I'm concerned, 
people who take in theater from the serenity of the balconies are good enough 
for the Guillotine  ;-)  Worse yet are those who come down to the pits with 
too much sobriety to their credit.  I think this is an axiom of literary 
criticism, but for some silly reason, I can't find a decent citation...
