The vectors can have text recognition applied: CJK writing has a very fixed order, so storing the stroke order and direction (rather than just a bit map) is important and may allow better recognition than bad Latin writing could have. But the usual thing would seem to be storing the graphic and overlaying it on some other image: if the text recognition fails, you still have the vector format. Cheers Rick
