We have to (1) process data that are sent through a process of typography.
The tool we use to fine-set the data is FrameMaker+SGML.
On the other hand we (2) sell solutions to industries, e.g. that want to
create their technical docu out of XML by using FO. FO, as far as we of
abc.Media reckon to have understood, has its own ? as I said in my previous
mail: PDF-oriented ? table model.
We wouldn't like to create a different table model in XML than we do in
SGML. Therefore, we're looking for something really smart and wide-spread...

Privately I am in the process of launching a Christian,
open-to-common-ecumenical-effort, German-language internet activity. I can't
do it all by myself. Anyone interested for the technical aspects?

<opinion class="religious">
The HTML table model is inherently better.  The only things that
CALS can do that HTML can't are idiosyncratic and complex things
that usually are bad typesetting practice and almost never can
be presented effectively on-screen.

I've often thought that HTML per se was a pretty ordinary
document markup language.  The table model is the exception;
it's comprehensible, flexible, powerful, and just kind of
generally does what you need.
