IE doesn't know how to display <name>Wells</name> To display this the way you want, you will have to give IE a stylesheet written in either CSS or XSLT. Given that you have not specified any stylesheet in the instance you are displaying in IE, it will opt to display your data with its internal default sytlesheet (the interactive tree structure - that allows you to expand and contract subtrees in the display).
