xmetal product history
I would still like to know XMetal's level of compliance with W3C CSS
standards, I don't wish to cast aspersions on any product, I have looked at
XMetal and it is a serious product. However people may consider Netscape 4
to support CSS, but if you've ever tried to write an extensive CSS sheet for
it you will know that between the bugs and the unsupported features you will
have a hard time acheiving a satisfactory result.

I'd just like to add that I have other reasons for choosing Epic LE (as a
first stage in XML authoring tools role out) for editorial staff:
Arbortext's long history with SGML authoring (see Len Bullard's note), and
of course the price: 10 LE licences for 550 euros ($463 USD). If it doesn't
field test well, we've still spent less that one full XMetal license.

At the end of the day it's "horses for courses" as they say.

Kind regards
Lee

Actually, XMetaL uses CSS internally and doesn't rely on
 MSXML. However,
