validate XML

How can I check if a XML file comforms to a specified DTD?
If I have a xml file using <!DOCTYPE SYSTEM "abc.dtd">
but the actual content doesn't go with abc.dtd, 

using Sun parser: javax.documentFactory.setValidating(true), 
it can't detect that. 
Also, using Aelfred parser, it doesn't check that as well.
