tei.2 or . . . . an similar root?

Just a question . .. . we're working with some teixlite, and the root
element is, of course, tei.2.  Unfortunately, some of our javascript is
throwing an error b/c of the "." . . . . any chance the hallowed halls of
tei-dom could see fit to make it tei_2?
