But you would probably need to build your own hashtable where you can feed in parts of your parsing buffer. Also, wrappers will definitely slow down. Thus, I would prefer required interning for namespaces only. Namespaces are usually long enough to make interning pay off, and the null comparison that does not exist for other names would be solved.
