Vector Markup Language (VML) is a Microsoft-proprietary 2-D (2 not 3) vector-graphics system that uses XML syntax. It will soon be replaced by SVG, being developed by a group at the W3C (including Microsoft). VML is pretty cool and SVG is massively cool. VRML is Virtual Reality Modeling Language, now an ISO standard, a very large & comprehensive VR language. It uses a textual but non-XML encoding format. VRML has never taken off in the marketplace, opinions differ as to why. The VRML folk are working on a recasting of the language into a new version with among other things an XML syntax, go check out web3d.org. -Tim xml-dev: A list for W3C XML Developers.
