Same goes for XML. What I mean is that plan text is not a subset of SGML or XML. If XML is the new ASCII wouldn't it be great if it was backwardly compatible with the existing ASCII? To be concrete. I think it makes a lot of sense to allow a plain text document to parse and emerge at the far end of an XML processor as a single xml:text node consisting of PCDATA. >From a software development perspective this appeals to be.
