An XQL query may return numbers, strings, Date objects or even user defined data types, which are not nodes in the DOM sense, but objects. If you wrap the results in tags like <xql:date>, ... you will get problems with the user defined types and loose type information. To me the return values of a query are just a vector of objects in document orders, of which some happen to be DOM nodes. ++im -- Ingo Macherius//Dolivostrasse 15//D-64293 Darmstadt//+49-6151-869-882 GMD-IPSI German National Research Center for Information Technology mailto:macherius@g... http://www.darmstadt.gmd.de/~inim/ Information!=Knowledge!=Wisdom!=Truth!=Beauty!=Love!=Music==BEST (Zappa) xml-dev: A list for W3C XML Developers.
