San Diego, CA, March 18, 1998: Media Design in*Progress today released XPublish 1.0, the first website publishing system that is based on the XML 1.0 document standard. Webmasters can use XPublish to efficiently author, publish and maintain middle sized and large websites to deploy on any platform. XPublish is first released on Macintosh, and will be available for other platforms later this year. The XPublish application can be downloaded from: http://interaction.in-progress.com/xpublish XPublish is the first commercially available professional XML authoring and publishing system. The application provides dialogs to create, inspect and modify XML markup, liberating the author from detailed knowledge of the XML specification. It provides an extendable markup editor resembling the powerful Emacs editor, but with Mac ease of use. The editing environment is dynamically tailored based on the document types and declarations of the author. XPublish generates HTML pages from XML documents at publishing time. Thus, web publishers can benefit from the efficiency and flexibility of XML when creating sites for todays browsers. All XML content is maintained in an object database for speed and concurrently as markup files for flexibility. XPublish gives web developers the advantages of one-source publishing without the overhead and complexity of full SGML. The integrated Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) editor simplifies designing and maintaining a consistent presentation style for websites. XPublish can optionally emulate CSS for older browsers that don't support style sheets. XPublish is listed at $495, but is currently available for an introductory price of $245. -- Terje <Terje@i...> | Media Design in*Progress C a s c a d e... a comprehensive Cascading Style Sheets editor for Mac XPublish - for efficient website publishing with XML Make your Web Site a Social Place with Interaction!
