Since it is trivial to implement this on top of SAX, I suggest it shouldn't go into SAX itself. (The way you do multiple handler is to write a class MultiHandler that implements the DocumentHandler interface and accepts in its constructor two DocumentHandlers; the methods then call these two in turn.
