You have to treat a large number of special cases for characters, and are extremely vulnerable to revisions of the spec (this is an area where I am sure minor revisions will happen). So a set of library classes of the type: public static boolean isValidName(String name); public static String getCaseSpaceNormalizedAttval(String value); would be extremely valuable. We can then delegate part of the prose to these implementations. P.
