Does anyone know of any papers that discuss and compare/contrast the scope of the following standards efforts: MCF - Meta Content Framework (Apple/Netscape) CDF - Channel Definition Format (Microsoft) D-C - Dublin Core RDF - Resource Description Framework (W3C) I recognize that much of the discussion around these various topics indicates they are in various stages of development and review. What is not clear is the precise scope each of these endeavors. What problem sets are they trying to solve? I have read most of the relevant documentation describing each of these proposals (except RDF, since there is no public document describing the scope of the W3C RDF WG that I could find). So, is there any paper or soon-to-be-written paper that addresses the relative scope of these efforts?
