I finally found the link by hunting around [1]-- but it is still rather old.
Overall (if it is still under development), my question was this: Why does
the IDL for BooleanItem and ContentItem not specify that the value
properties are read-only. Base on the wording in the draft these properties
are no different from StringItem and IntegerItem, for instance. The Java
binding has this same model...
