They're not pointless; XML-DEV sometimes serves as an excellent support
group...

	Fred was found dead this morning in a hotel room,
	apparently as the result of an overdose of colons. 
	Police discovered URIs and other assorted paraphenalia 
	strewn around the room.  Relapses are more common
	today than in previous years, possibly because the
	bumper crop of colons from Afghanistan are of the
	extremely potent variety.
