According to the WordML schema, footnotes are stored inside <ftnElt> elements.

Hi

Thanks for your reply. But i am not extracting the footnote content from schema based WORDML. Just open a word document, create one footnote and save the same file as XML, from that how i can extract the footnote.

Once Again Thanks for your reply.

Thanks in Advance

Sorry, my mistake; I took the wrong part of the schema (the simple type instead of the element name).
According to the Office 2003 WordprocessingML schema, footnotes are stored in the w:footnote element, where "w" is the prefix for the http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/word/2003/wordml namespace
If you are instead using Word 2007, the "w" is the prefix for the
http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/wordprocessingml/2006/main namespace.
In both cases, the fragment of XML representing a footnote with content "Node text" is

<w:footnote>
<w:p wsp:rsidR="00EA18DC" wsp:rsidRDefault="00EA18DC">
<w:pPr>
<w:pStyle w:val="FootnoteText"/>
</w:pPr>
<w:r>
<w:rPr>
<w:rStyle w:val="FootnoteReference"/>
</w:rPr>
<w:footnoteRef/>
</w:r>
<w:r>
<w:t> Note text</w:t>
</w:r>
</w:p>
</w:footnote>
