Andrea McVeySubject: Newbie Question - Generating XML from XSL File?
Author: Andrea McVey
Date: 11 Feb 2005 11:34 AM
Hi,
I have recently started using Stylus Studio and have very little experience with xml. I am using an xml data file as the source document and an existing schema. I have mapped all the fields and run the preview to view the first record in the dataset. After saving the preview and running it into my database, the entry worked perfectly.

Here is my dilemma...
I have not been able to figure out how to create an xml file that will load all the records. The preview only listed the first (which worked), but all the others are being dropped. How do I generate xml from this xsl?

I am facing a serious time crunch, so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Andrea

Andrea

My guess is that you are not looping on the repeting elements you
would like to generate.

Take a look to the sampleBooksToCatalog.xsl example to have an idea
c:\Program Files\Stylus Studio XML Professional Edition\examples\simpleMappings\sampleBooksToCatalog.xsl

hope this helps
Ivan

I have taken a look at the sample and tried to implement it into my code, but I just end up with gobbleydeguck.

I have attached my code. Basically, I need it to write one record into eExact/Accounts/Account (plus the subdirectories) per record in my source xml.
Any suggestions?
Thanks again,
Andrea

Woohoo!

I got it to work. I had the tag set at the wrong level. Once I moved it under <Accounts>, it worked fine.
Thanks for your help!
