William SteinbergSubject: newbie: how to transform an xml file with an xsl file
Author: William Steinberg
Date: 15 Jan 2005 05:54 PM
I am evaluating this tool now. I have played with xmlspy and xmlwriter,
of the two, xmlspy is better.

I can't seem to figure out how to transform an xml file, say foo.xml
with an xsl file, say foo.xsl.

I have read the tutorial, but it doesn't seem to match the screen.

Any step-by-step suggestions?

Thank you.

- Open an XSLT stylesheet
- Select XSLT > Scenario Properties (or click on the "..." button next to
the "Create Scenario..." drop down in the XSLT editor toolbar)
- Enter/select the path for the input XML document that needs to be used to
run the XSLT and press OK
- Select XSLT > Preview Result, or press Ctrl+F5, or click on the green
triangle in the XSLT editor toolbar to preview the transformation result;
if rather than just running the stylesheet you want to debug it, just place
a breakpoint on a line (F9 after you have move the blinking caret to the
proper line) and then press F5 or select Debug > Start Debugging

Hope this helps,
Minollo
