Mark MillerSubject: Debugging w/ MSXML Parser
Author: Mark Miller

In future releases will debugging be available with other processors? Specifically the MSXML processor? We use script tags in our XSLT documents and cannot step through the document because of it. If there is no planned implementation of this, what would you suggest as an alternative to using script tags to writing our custom functions?

We are hoping that Microsoft or the Xalan group will soon expose some
interface to allow us to handle debugging of external applications. Until
that happens, we would have to go through heavy instrumentation of the
source script, and that's something that we hope to be able to avoid.

Well, you will be happy to know that the next 3.1 beta release that we will
make available in a couple of weeks (3.1 beta 3), we will support MSXML
script tags. That will let you run your stylesheets using the Stylus Studio
XSLT processor.

Hope this helps,
Minollo
