xsl:include

Specifies an XSLT stylesheet that is included in and combined with the stylesheet that specifies xsl:include.

Format

<xsl:include href="stylesheet_path">

stylesheet_path specifies the stylesheet you want to import. Specify a URL, a relative path, or a DOS-style path.

Description

The xsl:include instruction must be a child of an xsl:stylesheet element. The XSLT processor effectively replaces the xsl:include instruction with the children of the root xsl:stylesheet element of the included stylesheet. If the root element of the included stylesheet is a literal result element, the XSLT processor effectively replaces the xsl:include instruction with the following new element whose only child is that literal result element:

<xsl:template match="/">

A stylesheet cannot include itself directly or indirectly.

Stylus Studio XML Document Wizards help you easily convert EDI, flat files, and other document formats to industry-standard XML.

Translating X12 Documents to XML

The X12 to XML Converter is a built-in function of the adapter library. The XML that is generated is well commented and indented, and can be used anywhere XML is normally used — with XML Schemas, XSLT, XQuery, etc.

Writing Custom XML Adapters

There are cases where the input format is too complicated for Convert to XML, or both reading and writing of the file format is needed. This section will take you through the process of writing a medium-sized adapter in Java.

SQL Server Tools

Integrated SQL Server Tools in Stylus Studio enable you to access relational data stored in SQL Server 2000 or SQL Server 2005 as XML using XQuery, SQL/XML or ADO - learn how to export relational data as XML today!
