Rashid JilaniSubject: Stylus can not find the right JDK
Author: Rashid Jilani

Hi: I am trying to compile some xsd and WSDL to Java but Stylus studio is giving me the following message "You need to install Java 2, in order to compile Java resources". When I go to options -> Java Virtual Machine I don't see any option to pick the JDK by myself. I see a drop box for JDK that is empty. According to the link http://www.stylusstudio.com/configure_jre.html I should see a JDK section to pick the right JDK, but that option is not present in the version of Stylus studio I am using i.e Enterprise suite x14. BTW in the same option window I see stylus pick a JRE that is not the default JRE on my machine. I double checked the default JDK and JRE under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft and confirmed that the JRE picked by the stylus is not the right JRE.

BTW I am using windows 7 64 bit edition.

Hi Rashid,

Stylus Studio is 32bit application therefore requires x86 JVM, please
visit http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads

Windows x86 Offline 19.38 MB jre-7u3-windows-i586.exe
Windows x86 84.12 MB jdk-7u3-windows-i586.exe

Hope this helps
