Hi I download the evaluation copy yesterday and the installation was quite fine.

However, when I tried to launch it, clicked "skip the regcode temporarily", the splash screen showed up, but then it stayed forever. Nothing else more came up.

The windows task/process manager showed that the program did not use much memory or CPU resources. I had to kill the process since it stayed on top of all windows opened later on.

I'm using WindowsXP Professional, all service packs/patches are installed.

Java version is J2SE 1.5.0-beta2-b51, mixed mode, sharing.

Any hints? Thanks.

The problem is related to the beta JVM version you running (1.5 beta2); we are working to address this issue.

In the meanwhile you can manually workaround the problem making Stylus Studio either not use the JVM or use a different one (1.3.x or 1.4.x).

The JVM settings are stored in the following registry key (if the key(s) doesn't exist yet you'll need to create it):

HCU\
Software\
eXcelon Corporation\
Stylus Studio\
Runtime Settings

To disable the JVM, just set/create the REG_SZ "JVM Enabled" to "0".
To make Stylus Studio use a different JVM, set/create the REG_SZ "JVM RuntimeLib" to the full path of a 1.3.x or 1.4.x jvm.dll (like "C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_01\bin\client\jvm.dll").
