Matt AllenSubject: Saving a Converted XML as an XML

Hi

I want to convert XML files I have to a standard I have been given using XSD.

I have opened an XML in Stylus.

I have mapped the elements of this XML to an XSD in stylus.

I have run the debugging and generated a preview.

How do I now save the converted file as a new formatted XML based on the mapping to the XSD I have done?

Thanks

You can configure the output URL in the scenario dialog where the transformation result is saved at every execution.

To open the scenario dialog click on button "..." in the XSLT editor toolbar

You can learn more in the Online Help, press F1 then navigate to

Hi

Many thanks for your reply. I did manage to create an XML but it was only of the preview and not all the content in the original XML, any reason this could be happening?

Also, the new XML structure was flat (single continuous line) and not in a tree format per the XSD I mapped to, any reason for this?

Thanks

Have you read the product documentation?

Have you look at the video tutorials?

Hi

If you want to see the XML as a 'tree' you need to specify the tag at the top of the stylesheet

<xsl:output indent="yes" />

This pretty prints the document into something that is easier to read for humans.
