Hi,

I am in the process of running a side-by-side evaluation of Stylus Studio and Altova Mapforce for our DB to XML mapping needs.

Our source database is an MS Access database.

I have now followed the following instructions (Step 1 and 2)
http://www.stylusstudio.com/configure_data_source.html

Using the ODBC Data Source Administrator and the sladmin54 application I have verified (I believe) the correct setup i.e. the SLSocket54 service is up and running.

Moving on to Step 3 :

When doing a File -> New
DB to XML Data Source is not shown as a menu selection
as described under Step 3.

When trying to do an File Explorer -> Relational DB -> New Server
the Connection Settings panel does not have an DataDirect SequeLink entry in the Database Type pulldown menu

Can anyone when tell me what is wrong or how to debug ?

/Geir

The web page you are referring to unfortunately contains obsolete information. Stylus Studio doesn't support Sequelink or MS Access anymore, and it relies solely on XQuery (http://www.xquery.com) for RDBMS connectivity.

Does this mean that there is NO way I can work with MS Access and Stylus Studio ?

That is correct. You can find the list of supported databases at http://www.datadirect.com/products/xquery/relational-database-support/index.ssp

If you are strongly interested in using MS Access through DataDirect XQuery, we have a non productized support for MS Access for the XQuery engine; if you would like to know more, feel free to contact us at stylus-field-report@progress.com
