documented to my usual high standard....

  (I'll have a good look through this evening),
  but can you please explain why you are using the union operator in the below
  template?

wrapper and its children just need a copy template, using | achieves
that
the alternative is having two templates identical but for teh match
pattern
one match="wrapper" one with match="wrapper/*" 
so using | cuts down typing (which is a good thing if you type as
accurately as I do..) In a pattern | is _defined_ to be equivalent to 
duplicating the templates in this way.
