Really, the FO book is out in paper? (I have the impression bookstores
are alot more selective in the computer books they stock these days).

Sorry ... in my attempt to be brief I gave the impression both were already on the shelves. "Definitive XSL-FO" is available February 4:

The XML of the content has been submitted to the editor and (as with the XSLT book) the press-ready images are being publishing using XSL-FO.

I love these books, they are very thorough and seem to have explanations
for any situation you might encounter - this is the first place I look
when stumbling through trying to write XSLT.

Thank you for the supportive words!

Some don't like the outline style but I find it efficient;

I wrote it in the style I would like to read a technical book: salient points without fluff in a nested hierarchy implying levels of detail. I can't write no complete sentences nohow anyway!

probably
would want more text if just starting out. My one caveat/complaint is
that for some reason the examples did not come with the hard copy
version of the XSLT book,

Yes, the ZIP file is only available with the electronic purchase ... it wasn't enough to warrant the effort of including media with the actual book.

and I thought the examples were pretty
important. Maybe make them available online for those who bought the
hard copy at some point?

I thought of that at one point, but could find no way of proving the paper book purchase had been made. Let me think on this again.

Thanks again!
